Some amazing news...

I had some terrific, amazing news last night and I've been on a high ever since. Why? Well, none other than Salem Al Fakir himself mentioned Planet Salem and said some really nice things about it on his MySpace page and also posted a link. It is a totally wonderful feeling to have the subject of your fansite actually endorsing it and encouraging fans to visit.

I'm so happy :))))

Congratulations on the shout-out. I'm not a huge Salem Al-Fakir-fan, but I have his album and I do like it. He's an amazing artist. I have a friend who is a jazz-singer and a multiinstrumentalist too and these people are totally awesome, but quite intimidating (especially if you're a hobby musician like me).

Anyways, I got curious as why you've got stuck in Swedish music/TV? I'm Swedish myself so I know about all the great music from here, but where did it start for you? Listening to Kent's first album right now. (Got here by searching for an international review of "Tillbaka till samtiden").

Hi Sciboy!

Glad you like Salem's music - he certainly is totally awesome and he always comes across in interviews as such a nice person too.

I've been obsessed with everything Swedish since I was a child - maybe it was Abba winning the Eurovision Song Contest, I don't know!! - but I got into Swedish music at various times during the 1980s and 1990s and since the good old internet came along, that just opened up my Swedish music obsession once again and enabled me to watch Swedish TV shows like "Idol" on the web. I like everything from the cheesiest pop to the more alternative sounds and everything in-between. I got into Kent a few years ago and have liked their music ever since.

Hi Poster Girl - fellow Swedish music lover :)

I'm enjoying my five minutes of blog-fame!!

Rachel - If Dima K's not reading Work Your Magic then he doesn't know what he's missing :)))

Keira - I'm still on cloud nine yet and not planning to come down for a while yet!!

Anyway I'll need to give the old EuropeCrazy blog some attention this weekend as it's probably feeling a bit left out due to the Planet Salem mania of recent days.

But now I'm off to bed!
